This particular game was posted by Ocean dream a few years back, but people stopped following the rules after a few posts. Here they are. Write a part of a story as much as you like in one post per entry, ending mid sentense. The next poster will begin with the last letter of the previous post. allow me to demonstrate.
One beautiful morning a girl and her fluffy puppy were playing in a garden. The dog ran, chacing a bouncy ball through the colorful flowers as the girl's tinkling laughter faded farther and farther into the distance. Suddenly, the ball dropped into
one of the smelliest skunkhouses on planet earth. The dog, whose name was

Tiger dived in after it not caring how much it smelt, but just wanted to get his precious ball back. Upon retrieving the ball, he

encountered the master of the house. Tiger attempted to sniff him to get to know him better, but the skunk turned up his nose and
Drolled all over the dog. The dog ran away with his ball and jumped

directly into a mud puddle. His black and white fur was now drenched with brown. Giving a mighty shake, Tiger looked around and discovered that he was now nowhere his sweet master. Unending forest surrounded him on all sides. Trees taller than elephants darkened the path. He ran and ran, desperate to break through to the light until
later when he would get tired from wandering around. Tiger was
scared! He was only a little dog trapped in the deepest darkest of the forbidden forest. seemingly from out of nowhere came the scent of a swiftly approaching horse, though he heard no hoofbeats. He let out a bark
Knowing not what was happening, all sorts of thoughts raced through Tiger's mind. Where was his master. Why did the skunk react like that. Why didn't he hear the horses' hooves. Was the horse going to hurt him? What was going to happen to him in the forest? He just wanted to see this terrible experience
Eating a fallen leaf, tiger wished his master was here. He kept running trying
to retrace his steps.
Sliding down a huge hill wet from an undescribably hard rain as a result of taking a wrong turn because the leaf he had just been eating was from a poisonous plant, he flipped right in to a swomp. Out of nowhere, the horse, all the dangers that the forest was hiding, and the skunk who had suddenly transformed in to something so horrible it had no name came after him. This lead to something so shocking, they were all paralyzed with disbelief. His master suddenly appearing transformed in to something that to anyone who was the slightest bit evil was 100 times more terrifying than what the skunk had transformed in to and something that was infinitly stronger than what the skunk had transformed in to said although it's pretty odvious, I'm going to give you one guess as to the person I'm going to have no trouble saving. I know he's scared right now, he has four legs, he's little, and although he's a canine, he shares his name with a big cat;
Turning her liquid lava eyes in the direction of the cringing doggie, his master, who had only moments ago seemed so friendly and pleasant, bore down on him as she bellowed,
"Tiger!"
Her voice was an earth shattering chorus of ten thousand bolts of thunder. His paralysis was suddenly gone. Tiger ran so fast the wind painfully tore through his nose and eyes and his joints ached all the while the thunderous voice boomed,
"You must not escape, you cannot escape, you will not escape!" again and again and closer and closer till he felt the scorchingly hot moist breath of his monstrous owner on his back.
knowing not what to do, Tiger let out a howl of fear. suddenly, a huge...
elephant jumped out from behind the trees.
he said
"don't you dare hurt that innocent puppy!" then he stomped on the dog's monsterous owner, crushing her flat. pink guts squirted out,
though somehow, she didn't die
in sted, she rose from the ground in all her glory and said,
" I am a princess. I am emortal and you can't ever hurt me"
with that, she waved her wand and flames started shooting from the tip
poor Tiger was devastated. "how will I ever escape" he wailed. the elephant picked tiger up, entered a highly reinforced rocket ship, and blasted into space with him.
mostly upset, but also glad to be free of his owner, tiger settled back in his seat next to the elephant
the elephant started the countdown.. 3.... 2..... but before he could reach 1, the ship blasted off by itself, and set it's own course to an unknown planet.
2 hours later they landed at the planet and exited the ship
to their surprise, they found that the planet was inhabited by hungry lions
"Supper's here!"
roared the largest of them, who bore an uncanny resemblance to Mufasa. Druel dripped from their lionine mouthes as they drew closed. Then something remarkable
escaped the lions mouth
they were the exact same words that mufasa used to protect simba from the elephant graveyard
the elephant turned and asked, are we really in pride rock?
the lion (who turned out to be mufasa), said.. yes, we are
the elephant said to him, but I thought you died years ago?. I thought scar killed you
mufasa gave an all mighty roar and before the elephant could retreat, he was attacked by the lions, an entire pride of lions
another 1 of the lions (who turned out to be simba) told the elephant that he belonged in the graveyard in the outlands, not in pride rock.
simba pulled from his lion cave a tooth, which, as it turns out, belonged to the elephant
just then, without any warning, the lions stopped the attack as a figure drifted in to view
this figure was female, and stood tall and bravely in the centre of the land
she addressed the crowd... I, she said, am princess Elena of Avalor. you want to know why you are both still alive?. without knowing it, you both drank from the fountain of youth on a mysterious island, it made you young again
mufasa and the elephant stared in shock at princess Elena, and were about to say that they didn't remember ever going to a mysterious island, when she continued.. if you come with me now, we can all this reversed. you both should be dead, and I know on the same island their is a flower to make you get old again
"Never!" trumpetted the lion as he whealed his huge body around and trampled away as fast as he could,m nearly crushing Tiger in the process.
"Why would I want to be old?" asked Mufasa as the sounds of the pakiderm faded.
"Yeah."
Tiger began giving himself a mighty shake as all dogs often do.
"What could be good about being a dusty old curmudgeon?"
"Or smell like pee and poop all day,."
Simba chimed in.
"Silence!"
The princess snapped, sparks flying from her fingertips.
"For I am older than the oldest of your Gods. With great age comes great
Tomatoes burst from the ground and it began to rain posta. everyone stopped and had a feast and filled up on the meat balls that rolled down the hills. It was all so good and filling. everyone ate all they could then took a doze. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Princess Elena had just zapped every lion which and their wardrobes into old age.
"This is the price you pay for your gluttony and sloth!"

I may have been trapped in an amulet for 43 years, but i'm still stronger than all of you put together.
meanwhile, back on our planet, tiger's owner (who as you all know had got away lightly), was taking a leisurely walk through the forest smiling to herself
Feet flopping across the grass she crushed everything they landed on. Her feet were huge!
elegant deer ran in fear from this crazed monster-girl
lately, their had been rumours that she was related to shrek, and believe me, she had the looks and the size to prove it.
soon, she came to a house hidden in the forest.
the door had been left open wide, and the inside looked like their had been a murder that had taken place
she looked around, and sure enough, she found some bullets on the ground below her feet
she decided not to pick up the bullets, but she did step in to the house. as she went to shut the door,
roosters flew at her, screaming and shrieking
"Get out! Get out!"
They seemed to say. So out she stumbled, tripping on her bigfoot I mean feet. The door slammed shut behind her and at
that moment, worms crawled out of it and into her nose and mouth and eyes.
surely this time she was done for
as she lay their on the ground, worms everywhere, she had a thought
that was it! she activated the pepper-and-feather dispenser in her nose, took a deep breath, and sneezed, sending worms and rainbow slime everywhere for miles.
she then stood up, kicked the ground around her (to check all the worms were dead), then did a little dance of victory
yet she was never expecting what horrors awaited her next... *ominous music*
curiously, and a little more than shaken, she walked on hoping that for at least a few miles she could just enjoy the forest.
suddenly, a massive dragon blocked her path
the dragon was breaving flames and everything
Great big bondfires formed wherever the dragon spat. She ran hither and thither till she was surrounded with a circular wall of raging flame. The dragon, licking it's lips in anticipation of such a dainty morsle, put on a bib and picked up its jiant fork. It thrusted downward to spear the girl. She grabbed hold of the prongs and just as she felt the steam of the dragon's gaping maw,
walruses fell from the sky and carried her away to a planet called
draxia.
it seemed a lovely place. draxia was a beautiful place, surrounded by miles of blue ocean, crystal white sand, and mango trees
a lot of animals lived their too, a lot of fish, wales, and a few crabs.
the wallruses were gone, and the girl was standing on the sand looking down at a map
the map seemed to be a map of draxia, and as she started gazing intently at it, she spotted a hotel,simply called the oasis
oh, she thought, what a stroke of luck. I can collect some mango from the trees here, then go down to the oasis and rest. I hope they have a room going!
she collected many mangos. many, many mangos.
then, staggering from the weight, she headed in the direction of the oasis hotel.
as she rounded a corner, she realised to her dismay, that shee probably wouldn't be going to the hotel today
their in front of her, sat the ruins of steps.
steps, that at 1 point, had led down from the beach to the hotels entrance
" I can't go down those steps" she said to herself. "If I do, I will surely hurt myself, look at how ruined and dangerous they are"
just at that moment, a dolphin who was watching the entire thing, came up to her
she started to explain "but you're a dolphin. you should be in the....."
"hush!" cried the dolphin. "I am ociana, magic dolphin of draxia. I've been watching you, and I know what you want,. you want to get to the hotel, but can't because of those steps. am I right?"
"yes!", said the girl, " you are!"
"I will grant you access, and make sure their is a room for you, but first... you have to do something for me"
"anything!"
ociana continued, " long ago, I hhad a golden neclace. it was beautiful, but 1 day while swimming in the ocean, it came off, broke apart, and sank to the bottom of the ocean. if you can retreve the peaces to my neclace, you will have your wish".
"but I can't...."
and before she could say swim, she was wearing a swimming costume, and she was floating around in the ocean.
Never had it felt so good to be under water. She performed a graceful cartwheel enjoying the feel of her...finns? Why, she was a murmaid! Smiling, she broke into song,
"under da see, under da..."
Her tune was broken off by the clearing of a throat. The Dolphin, an impatient look on its face hovered nearby, its arms folded disapprovingly.
"Right. The necklace. I'm on it!"
With an embarrased grin, she made her way down. She swam down and down into seemingly unending darkness. She had no idea where to begin looking in this vast ocean. A sliver of light came into view. The further down she swam the brighter it became. With hope in her heart, she swam faster and faster as the light became brighter and
danced off rocks and shimmered off the silvery bodies off fishes, swimming gracefully among the seaweed. the girl realised that her evil heart, the one that had made her almost kill her previously forgotten dog, tiger....anyway, her evil heart that made this sentence all improper...her evil heart had been purified by the beauty and the prospect of helping the dolphin. anyways, as she swam, following the light, she came to the bottom of the ocean, here she found the necklace...but it was guarded by a
anxious looking troll! "Who are you? I need that necklace!" she said timidly. "I am Lord Troloni, mother of all trolls and cyclops. I want you to sing! or I kill you!"
The girl looked at the troll in shock. never in her life has she felt so afraid. She thought of a song to sing
gratitude filled her when a song called "The Alphabet" popped into her head, and she sang it so well that the fish fell out of the.....air? sea? hmm.....
Making the best of it, she smiled at the fish and the troll grined from ear to ear. "here you go, you may have the necklace." but one more thing. the necklace has a shiny gold amulet. I might've lost it... can you look for it?" She sighed. "Sure." she said sighing again and looking for the golden amulet.
the amulet was burried in the sand, under a giant sign that said "the amulet is buried here" so the girl dug it up and swam up to the surface to return it and the necklace to the dolphin, who said her name was
sacred, and should only be uttered in a time of great need. That conversation, of course, took place after the necklace and its accompanying amulet were returned to her safe and sound. They frolicked about in the water, splashing, diving and having a grand old time.
"I will forever be greatful to you."
Said Ociana as she lovingly stroked the necklace she was now wearing.
"And I will now grant you entry and hospitality. Should you ever be in need, remember, just speak my name, and I will come to your aid."
One salty wet kiss on the girl's cheak and she found herself once again phinless, two-legged, completely dry and standing in front of what she presumed was the oasis hotel. She entered a silver arched gate into a sunny courtyard. She stroled over to a small wooden table on which was a teapot and a saucer with a cup of hot tea. She sat on a bamboo chair nearby and took in the scent of the peach blossoms from above as she sipped the soothing beverage. Gazing at a pond of goldfish, she suddenly missed her Dolphin friend. What was her name again? Oshana...osheeania...oh! Ociana!
"Yes?"
Said a familiar voice behind her.
realising that ociana meant what she had said, the girl turned and spoke " i miss you. I didn't realise how much i'd miss you until, you know, until you were gone"
she paused, hesitating for a moment, before asking
"is this really the oasis?. it's beautiful!"
ociana nodded
"this hotel's been here for hundreds of years. the only hotel left on draxia".
the dolphin was interupted by the girls shocked reply "only 1 left?. their were more?"
ociana nodded again. "draxia's not what it used to be you know, years ago their were others, but none of them as good as the oasis. they all just closed up eventually."
the sky became dark as a storm rolled in. thunder began to roar in the distance
" listen," said ociana, " you must go inside now. I booked your room, it's the best in the hotel. remember, if you need me, just call"
with that, the dolphin vanished and the girl was standing at the front desk
"can I help you?" saida tall woman behind the desk.
"uh...... yeah, this is going to sound trange but a dolphin booked me in to this...."
"say no more, here's your key!. have a lovely stay at the oasis!"
as she turned towards the elevator, she realised something
apart from what she was wearing, and also her magic swimming costume (which turned out to be in her pocket all along), she had nothing else
oh well, she thought as she pressed the button.
when the doors opened, she had the shock of her life
a pair of evil eyes were looking at her and a loud growl could be heard.
she stepped back and stammered "....... tiger?. is that you?"
"woof!" said the dog, as he sprang from the elevator towards her.
"tiger!. i'm sorry!. I know I should have treated you better before, and I will, I will!. just give me a chance!"
the dog was right beside her now, panting and looking very angry
taking her chances (because our girl is brave), she knelt down and stroked tiger's fur
before you could say draxia, the dog had stood up, and bit our girl on the arm
"ociana!. ociana!. I need you now!"
with that, the dolphin came in to view and noticing the dog, spoke softly to him.... "did you hurt her?".
the dog, who had never seen a talking dolphin before just stood their wagging his tail
"no one hurts my friends, and she's a friend".
"I am?"
the dolphin nodded.
"and, if you so desire, 1 of us. you found my neclace after all, you're a good swimmer, and you sing well. why not?"
"well, um, i'll have to think about it. leaving the human life behind to become a dolphin, it's a big change... I don't know."
but, she did know
for the first time ever, she did know.
she liked ociana, and missed the dolphin when they wern't together. she liked the ocean, and she loved the coolness of the wather.
but, she also loved tiger. though she hadn't been that kind to him, or accepting, she wanted that chance to be better. take better care of him, take him for walks, play games with him etc
as she stood their looking at 2 animals she loved, she was torn. she had no idea what to do
ociana interupted her thoughts by saying,
"it's about what makes you happy. it's about what you want and where you want to be"
the girl nodded, and with that firmly in her brain, she turned towards ociana
"I think I do want to become a dolphin, I do want to live with you and start a new life under the ocean."
" it won't be easy, it's a big adjustment, but with me as your guide you'll be fine"
sensing the sadness, tiger dropped his tail and began turning his head from his owner
the girl smiled at tiger, " I'll always remember you" she said. "but i'm better off with my new friend ociana. she has so much she can teach me"
"we'll start tomorrow," said ociana. "for now, you need a rest. go up to your room and relax. "
the room was lovely. it was decorated to look like a cruise ship, with several fish pictures also hung on the wall
" good night", the girl said to no one in particular, and drifted off to sleep
morning braught another warm day. the girl got dressed and went down for breakfast
the breakfast was wonderful, and consisted of bacon, sausages, toast and even cerial
after she'd eaten all she could, she went outside for some fresh air.
As she enjoyed the fresh air, she heard footsteps behind her. She turned. It was a princess. "yay, another princess!" she squealed. "hi, I'm princess Sophia." the little princess said. "Is this a hotel?" The girl nodded. "my name is Maggie." the girl said reaching out her hand.
delighted,princess sophia began asking maggie all kinds of questions- why was she at the hotel, was she alone, how long had she been their, what did she plan to do once she had left, the list of questions went on
it didn't take long for maggie to share the entire story about tiger, the problems she'd got herself in to back on earth, the wallruses, how she ended up on draxia, ociana the dolphin, the neclace, she was soon finishe.
sophia just stared
She smiled at Maggie. "Well, shall I stay with you?" Maggie stared. "Um, sure?" she said. Sophia smiled then, laying down on the hotel bed. Maggie was delighted. she kept thinking she was dreaming in the world where there were princesses and stuff. Sophia had fallen asleep. Then, she saw a bright light emanating from her amulet. "oh.o." she thought before a figure just appeared in front of her. "Hi princess Elena." she said shyly. "Why the hell is she here?" Elena asked waking up Sophia. "who, Sophia?" Maggie asked curiously. "Yes, I told her to look for ociana. I want her to train some heroes. She said she found a strong warior. In this exact... wait, I think she was talking about you!" she yelled hugging Maggie.
"I know where ociana is!" yelled maggie jumping up from the bed.
"I returned her neclace, and now she's at my beccon call. she even asked me to become 1 of them.... you know, dolphin things"
so wait" cried Elena. "you found a neclace at the bottom of the ocean, gave it back, and now she wants you to become a dolphin?. don't you see?. you should have held on to that neclace, because you are the chosen one"
the chosen one?" asked maggie, " give me a break!. I couldn't possibly be a powerfull warrior..... could i?"
" we need to find tghat neclace," said princess Elena. "maggie.. do you remember where in the ocean you saw it?"
"she gave it back to the dolphin", sophia interupted. " she has it now"
" blah blah blah" Elena mumbled. "all that matters is that we find the dolphin, get the neclace, and give maggie back the power she possessed all along"
"i'm not a powerfull...."
maggie started, but was interupted by Elena
"take us to ociana, maggie."
Maggie's heart raced. "She... she's my friend." she said tears shining in her green eyes. "You take us now, or else!" screamed elena pulling out her scepter. Princess Sophia found her wand and casted an invisibility magic on herself and Maggie. Before Elena could chase them, Maggie and Sophia ran out of the hotel invisibilly. They arrived at the ocean and called out to Ociana. The dolphin appeared. "Oh man, you girls look terrified!" she said hugging both of them. "What's going on?" she asked.
"Do you remember a girl named Maggie?" Asked elena.
"Indeed I do. I spoke to her only yesterday."
These three were old friends and often visited each other. However they only came to Draxia on important and usually dangerous missions. Ociana Grew still, a concerned expression in her eyes.
"Has...has something happened to her?"
"You need not worry about that." Sophia replied, a reassuring smile on her face.
"Though she, is why we've come." Elena finished.
A silence followed lasting only moments, but the decision of the world hung suspended on the shoulders of one magical creature. She suddenly clutched her phins to her newly rediscovered treasure and stammered,
"You don't mean to say..."
"It is time." Broke in Sophia.
"but, she's only a child! A fragile mortal not even existing on her flawed planet even one millennia!"
Elena's voice was flat and emotionless when she spoke.
"The orical foretold her coming." and she recited the words of the prophecy.
"She has lost a firry friend, Saved by wallrusses from a dragon then, In the depths she'll find the treasure, Maggie, girl of bravery without measure."
The dolphin slumped in grim resignation. She removed her necklace and passed it to the two princesses.
"Then it must be done. Train her well. See that her spirit and mind as well as her body is prepared for what is to come."
She sadly turned and began...

Nodding and walking away. Maggie has never seen a dolphin cry. but wait, her tears were golden. "So, what the hell are you guys talking about, training me and what not?" she asked the 2 princesses. Elena sighed impatiently. "You're brave but you sure aren't intelegent." she said. Sophia punched Elena so hard, she flew out of the ocean and landed in the grass! "anyways, as I was going to explain, you lost your doggie right? and you are seeing weird things... technically, I shouldn't be seen by mortals." she said. "I'm a princess. many mortals might see me as a strange person. you, however, have the gift of sight. greater then the average human! and, you're so brave, that we should make you a powerful warrior!"
"right then, where do we start?" maggie asked
"well," said sophia, "we're princesses, and can teach you some basic stuff. but what you really need is a master warrior to train you".
Elena asked.. " are their any master trainers on draxia?"
"i don't think so.." maggie paused. she hadd, after all, only seen the hotewl and the ocean, not the entire planet. how would she know?
Elena continued, "I guess you could come back with me and sophia to the kingdom of Avalor, couldn't she?". elena turned to sophia expecting a response
"I.... guess she could" said sophia, after hesitating. "but who in Avalor could train her?"
Rather smug, Elena replied, "Well, my cousin Estevon could train her. and my sister Izzy could teach her about manners and stuff." shall smiled showing off her brilliant white teeth. Maggie found herself floating in what looked like blue bubbles. They arrived at avalor. And what a sight it was!
suddenly for miles around everyone was singing and playing instraments.
maggie could barely hear herself as she spoke to Elena
"so where do we find this Estevon anyway?" she asked
"I can't hear you!" cried elena, " it's too loud!"
maggie stepped closer to elena and shouted in her ear,
"where do we find Estevon!"
elena jumped, " oh right, um, Estevon. he should be back home at the castle. cmon i'll take you"
they hadn't made it far when a woman came bounding out of the crowd
"hi!" she said. " i'm naomi, and you must be maggie", she said while looking at maggie
" you know me?" maggie grinned
"everyone was told of your coming to avalor. we must have a celebration!. the chosen one is here!"
naomi started dancing around clapping her hands
"actually naomi," said elena, " we're looking for cousin Estevon. have you seen him?"
"later, later!" exclaimed naomi. "it's celebration time!. I know where we can get fireworks, a huge banner, and more. come with me!"
Milliseconds later, the two princesses and the friendly Naomi vanished without a trace. Maggie looked left, right and behind her. The three suddenly reappeared, Naomi sporting a sheepish grin.
"Sorry there little warrior." She said grasping Maggie's hand. Before she could say, "Don't call me that," she found herself
facing her own door, her own wall, her own room!
maggie sat up in bed and rubbed her eyes
"what happened to everything?" she said aloud to no one in particular
though she tried to sleep, she couldn't.
her mother was soon in her room beside her
"you sure slept good last night, are you okay?".
maggie yawned. " oh mother, it was amazing. their was this island, and a dolphin, and 2 princesses and..."
" yes, yes. of course their were", the mother laughed. "come on, let's go down for breakfast"
maggie got out of bed, and began to get dressed
as she felt around in her pocket, she felt something shiny.
apon closer examination, she discovered it was the amulet. the same amulet she had seen while she was with the princesses, and agaqin at avalor
she gulped
" it's a magic key to avalor. it must be", she said, storing the amulet in her wardrobe
"are you coming?" yelled her mother
the day was spent outside with her mother doing jobs around the yard, and a few errands
when she got home in the evening, she took out the amulet
she couldn't wait to try it"
"I wonder if this will work?" thought maggie allowed
with more than a little fear showing in her eyes, maggie put on the amulet
nothing happened
"it's just a stupid amulet. it's not magic at all. I was so stupid to think it would transport me back to avalor"
at the mention of the word avalor, a magic portal opened, and maggie found herself floating through it
"did I hear someone say avalor?" asked a familiar voice.
it was elena
"i've been waiting here with sophia and naomi... I thought we were having a celebration!. where have you been!"
maggie grinned
"I somehow ended up back in my own world for a day. my mom was shocked to see me!"
"a day?" cried elena, " but you've only been gone a few seconds"
"I have?", maggie shivered. "only a few seconds?"
Slapping Elena on the back, Naiomi whispered, "Oh shit, I um put a homing spell on her?" she laughed. "Why?" asked Elena. Smiling, someone came over holding a baby. "Who's that?" asked Maggie. "It's one of Ociana's daughters. her name is Ariel." said Sophia holding the squirming baby mermaid. "She's so beautiful!" Maggie said. "But anyways, I wonder how I appeared in my house." "Well, let's see, I made the amulet glow. You Said something about some tiger running around. your own thoughts took you home, Maggie. Not naiomi." said elena matter-of-factly. "I wasn't thinking of home at all." said Maggie tears in her eyes. "I was probably thinking of... of... Tiger. Tiger." she started to cry. "Oh no, Naiomi, take her to abuela, now!" said elena. "What is she gonna do about it?" she asked. "she could tell her about how it feels to lose someone and how she needs to get over it. We can't have our warrior emotionally distressed." replied elena. Maggie was just thinking of Tiger when suddenly, she appeared in her room on the floor, right next to tiger's doggie bed.
desperate to see tiger, maggie knelt down and started touching all of tiger's old toys. his old blanket, even 1 of his old bones
"if you're out their tiger, give me a sign" maggie whispered.
nothing
as she was about to get up and walk out the room, she thought she heard a bark behind her.
she turned around, but their was noone their
" it's my imagination", she thought as she sat on her bed
she thought of the last time she'd seen tiger, at the oasis hotel. he seemed so angry at her, but she was calm, and apologetic.
"I have to get back to the oasis" she thhought. "tiger must still be their, and if he's not, ociana will know where he's gone"
but how would she get back to the oasis. she didn't have anything to guide her back
"how do I get back" she wondered
then she had an idea. she hadn't thought of this before, but it was the perfect solution
"Nothing can stop me now." she thought to herself rushing to the kitchen. There was a note pad magnet on the fridge her mother used to leave chores and important messages for her. On it was written,
"Your breakfast is warming in the oven. Out for a business meeting. Be back by 6. Love, mom."
She opened the oven and removed a plate filled with a breakfast of fried eggs, a generous amount of crispy bacon, 2 thick slices of buttered toast and even a mug of hot chocolate. Finding some large ziplock bags, she placed them on the counter next to her breakfast. As she stood there munching toast and drinking, she remembered when she first met Tiger as vividly as if it was happening now. It was her birthday. She and all her friends were in the park having a rip roarin' good time. There was a clown, a piniata full of all kinds of candy and a puppet show so funny, she thought she'd burst laughing. It couldn't be a more perfect day until the very end. Skipping to the car with her mom and dad, a great big smile on her face, she was suddenly pounced upon by a small firry creature. She squealed with pure delight rather than fright as her face was filled with puppy kisses. His fir was a rich chocolate color, his smiling eyes, a warm honey color, and on his head was a heart-shaped cap baring the words, "Hi I'm Tiger, your best pal always!"
She threw her arms up and around him and twirled.
"Oh!" She cried,
"I just love love love you!"
consumed with joy she was completely oblivious to her parent's surprised conversation which went something like this.
Mom: "This your idea?
Dad: "You know as much as I do at this point."
Mom: "He looks safe and she's so taken with him besides."
Dad: "We take it away now and it'll break her heart."
Mom: "You're right. But lets get it to the vet just to be safe."
As she sat in the car on the way to the vet, she held her new friend of the wagging tale and couldn't help exclaiming over and over again,
"You're the best gift ever...the best gift ever..."
She said it now, a tear roling down her cheak. With determination, she put her bacon and eggs into the bag, slipped it into her pocket and said aloud,
"We'll be together again soon, Tiger, with a little help from our good friend miss Ociana."
all was not well back at the oasis, however.
tiger had been staying at the hotel for a few weeks without insodent
but, only yesterday, a new family (consisting of a mother, father, and 4 children) had booked a room.
they had asked about the dog, they wanted to adopt him for themselves
"oh michael will love the dog!" cried elizabeth, the mother.
"I know," said jerry who was the father. "he's always wanted a cute dog, and this one's perfect. just look at him!"
they had asked the hotel management, who had told them that the dog had been left their a few weeks ago without an owner, and even though 1 girl had visited him, (they said her name was maggie), she didn't leave with him- so as far as they were concerned, the dog was looking for a home.
michael, the youngest of the 4 children (at only 6), begged his parents for the dog constantly. 24 hours a day. "I want thee dog, can I have the dog, please mommy can I have the dog!" etc etc
his parents, eager to please, had no objection.
outside the hotel, ociana the dolphin could feel something was wrong
she said silently to herself as she floated about the ocean "I need to tell maggie that someone wants to take her dog. I need to find a way to speak with her again."
a hundred miles away, back on earth, maggie had left her house with the bag of food, and was heading directly for the local train station
the noise of the street was loud, and people were bustling in all directions
suddenly she was approached by a police officer
" what's in the bag?" he ordered. " you didn't steal it did you?"
maggie looked at the officer, then back at the bag
" no" she said, " this bag is just food from my house. I am using it to hopefully get my dog back, who is currently miles away on another planet."
" yes, yes. sure you are" snarled the officer. "for now, you're not going anywhere with that bag. you're coming with me!".
"but it's just food" cried maggie. "where's the harm in bringing some food with me from home?"
the officer told maggie to get in his police car and bring the bag with her, and off they went to the station
once they had arrive, maggie was told to hand over the bag to the officer and wait in the waiting room
it seemed like an eternity before the officer came back
" now young lady" he said, sitting down oppositte her. " you lied to me."
" but the bag, it does contain food" said maggie. " it does"
"that maybe so," stated the officer, " but it is poisoned. we found traces of poison in the foodd. explain yourself?"
the officer glanced at maggie.
"I swear I never poisoned it. I swear".
the officer thought for a long time
" what ever happens, " he finally said, " you will not be leaving the station tonight. is their anyone you would like me to call and tell them the news?"
maggie thought about her mother at home, but decided if she found out maggie was at the station, she'd not be too pleased
" no, that's okay".
maggie sighed. "I guess my plan will have to wait", she thought
the officer glared at her, and stomped off muttering something about dangerous plans.
outside, it had begun to rain and puddles were forming all along the street
most people had decided enough was enough, and had gone home before they were caught in the rain
but as maggie watched from the window, she still saw a fair few people hurrying aboutt.
"why would people choose to walk in the rain" she grumbled. "I don't see the appeal of it. "
you may be wondering what was going on back on draxia.
tiger the dog had got an idea.
tiger knew that he didn't belong with this new family, tiger knew that he belonged with maggie
so tiger the dog (ever the clever one), had escaped from the hotel and was now heading directly for the beach
Cuddling a stuffed toy in his paw, he realized that he had gone to Maggie's house. He stared. "How did I come here?" he thought. Ociana came into view. "Tiger! Tiger! Maggie was looking for you." "What?" he asked surprised his ears perking up. "That's right. she realized she misses you." "Oh... well... how could she mistreat me like that?" "She didn't mean to, tiger." said ociana petting Tiger on the head. "she's clearly really sad. I know where she went last." she said smiling. She picked up Tiger and petted him. She realized with a start that Tiger was similar to Maggie. She could see that Tiger was a determined puppy!
"you're never going to believe this" ociana said, " maggie ended up at the police station. something about poisoned food".
" really?", tiger was concerned.
"come on, i'll take you their" ociana said, carrying tiger down the street.
they arived at the police station, and the dolphin aproached the desk
" hello," she said, " I'm looking for maggie"
the desk sergeant glared.
" we don't allow dolphins in our police station, now get out. "
" but you don't understand, I am trying to reunite...."
" get out!" roared the sergeant. " are you going to get out, or must I force you out the door?"
" but if you just tell me where maggie is, that's all I want to know...."
the sergeant sighed
" she's not here. she escaped from the police station a couple of hours ago. seemed in a hurry".
"I don't believe you," said ociana, glaring at the sergeant
"you better believe it, now get out".
ociana sighed, picked tiger upp, and walked out of the station.
"we'll find her, I promise" ociana said quietly to tiger
so where was maggie now?
realising that she wasn't going anywhere fast, maggie had waited until it was quiet, stood up, and rushed out the police station
once outside, she had hailed a taxi back to her house (as she didn't want to walk in the pouring rain)
unfortunately, things didn't go to well, and as the taxi turned a sharp corner, it collided with an ambulence, causing damage to both vehicles.
the driver had escaped unharmed (seatbelt and everything),, maggie on the other hand had taken the full force of the crash.
she was now lying in the back of a second ambulence, unconcious. the ambulence was rushing her to ST andrew's, the local hospital.
on arival, she had been assessed and transfered to a ward
her condition was critical, and her chances of survival slim
many doctors worked on her for several hours.
she had slipped in to a coma, so wasn't aware of anything that had happened to her.
Moving fast, Tiger caught a scent in front of Maggie's house. "You found a trail?" asked ociana. "Yes." he said still sniffing the air. "and... and... I smell blood. over there!" He cried pointing his paw at St. Andrew's. "Oh no! Let's go, boy!"
Both panting, they ran towards the hospital Ociana barely containing herself, and tiger looking panicked. As they neared the hospital, Tiger could tell where maggie was only by scent. "That's not good. that's not good." tiger said panicking and shaking. "Keep. yourself. Together. for her!" she said angrily. "Ok, sorry."
They neared the desk to check in. Someone who looked similar to Maggie walked up to them. "Oh tiger!" she yelled hugging him. then she looked at ociana. "Are you Maggie's mother?" asked ociana. "Er, yes. Were you wanting to see my daughter?" "well, came to bring Tiger to her, ma'm." ociana replied. "well, I'll check you in with me."
As the three walked to Maggie's room, wondering the worst, the nurse came rushing towards them pulling them into Maggie's room and closing the door. It was horrible. Maggie was laying in the hospital bed, with a breathing machine on her right and bandages all over her body and face. "What... how... why?" Maggie's mom burst into tears. Ociana tried to keep herself calm but burst into tears. Tiger knew what to do. Slowly, he got on Maggie's bed and nuzzled her gently. Maggie's eyes remained closed.
Dropping to her side, Tiger licked her face. At first nothing happened. Then, what felt like an eternity, Maggie's eyes opened. "Maggie!" her mom yelled hugging her. "You're ok! you're ok!" Ociana jumped. Maggie tried sitting up but winced. "Tiger?" sha asked looking confused.
"right" said dr preston, the chief doctor. "I think we've done all we can, now we just let nature take it's course. that was 1 hell of an accident she was in"
the doctors checked on her hour after hour, through out the night, and in to the next morning.
their was no change.
that afternoon, however, when the doctors walked in to her ward, they found her completely unresponsive. her breathing had stopped, and she was cold.
ressussitation attempts wern't successfull, and it was 20 minits later, dr preston announced her death.
" time of death 11 A.M, saturday, june 25th".
meanwhile, in a rainy street, outside a police station, ociana the dolphin and tiger the dog were wondering what to do.
" we could go back to maggie's house and wait for her", said ociana. "she's bound to return their soon enough"
the dog barked twice which meant, yes, good idea
they arived at the house, to find maggie's mother outside in a panic
as soon as she saw ociana, she ran up to the dolphin and asked " have you seen her?. have you seen my daughter?. she was meant to be back yesterday!. she's been gone for such a long time, she only went to get her dog back"
she stopped, as she caught sight of tiger
" ah.... you found him, where was he?. is he okay?."
"yes, yes. tiger's fine. but he misses maggie. can we stay here until she gets back?"
" of course", said maggie's mother. " come on in".
as they sat round the table, the phone in the hallway rang
"i'll get it", said the mother as she walked in to the hallway.
she returned a few minits later, as white as a ghost
" maggie's dead", she said. "involved in an accident and.... well, she didn't make it."
ociana started to cry.
"I loved that girl", she was able to say between sobs. "meant so much to me"
"I guess now you've returned the dog, you'll want to be getting back to draxia" said the mother. " you've done what you came here to do".
"actually", said ociana. " if you don't mind, i'd like to live near here. I think it's what maggie would have wanted".
" of course," said mother. " that makes sense".
ociana turned to tiger. " now you be good," she said. " you look after maggie's mother. she needs you now more than anything. "
" are you going so soon?" asked mother.
"I am, " said ociana. "I need to find a water source near here, a place where I can live".
with that, the dolphin was gone
exactly 10 minits later, ociana showed up at the hospital requesting to see maggie
"she won't hear you" warned the nurse. "she's unresponsive"
" oh that's okay" said ociana quietly. "I just want to say goodbye.".
inside the room, it was a very dismal afair. it was dark, the curtains were drawn, and no one stirred.
maggie lay in 1 of the beds, motionless. her life support had been disconnected, and her eyes looked colourless.
ociana approached the bed, tears in her eyes
she lay a fin on maggie.
"I'll miss you," she said quietly. "I love you maggie. you've done so much for me"
some dolphin tears fell from ociana's eyes on to maggie's wrist
she was about to leave when she caught sight of something remarkable
maggie's head was turning slowly towards the dolphin
could it be that ociana's tears had revived maggie?
"get out!" boomed a loud female voice. "get, out!".
a hand shot out from under the hospital bed, and struck ociana's face. " you heard me, get out!".
the dolphin looked, and to her horror, she saw it was maggie who had hit her.
but it wasn't maggie. or, it was. she just looked, well, zombified.
"maggie?. it's ociana. you remember me right?. from draxia?"
"and who you callin maggie?" came the voice.
again, the hand shot out from under the bed, and struck ociana's face
"excuse me," said a nurse who walked in at that moment. "but visiting hours are over. you can come back tomorrow"
ociana planted a quick kiss on maggie's wrist, and hurried out
outside, it took the dolphin a while to recover from what had happened.
" my tears are magic, I never knew they were" cried ociana. "I may have just saved the life of my friend."
ociana rushed back to maggie's house to tell her mother.
when she arrived back at the house, maggie's mother was just finishing up making a cake.
"ah ociana, you're back. did you find somewhere to live?"
ociana quickly relayed the story about the hospital and about maggie and her zombified state.
the mother looked at the dolphin, unsure of what to say.
"i'm lost for words" she said eventually. " you mean to tell me my daughter's a zombie?"
"well, when you put it like that" ociana laughed. " I guess she is".
She also smacked me up side the head a couple times."
Maggie's mother peered at her closely and winced.
"That explains the red hand prints. Here, allow me to dab something on those to...wait a minute. They're disappearing? But how could that be?"
The dolphin shrugged.
"Its magic. Who knows how it works. Listen, there's one thing we can do that could bring your daughter back to you, but I'll need your help and it will be dangerous."
"Tell me." she said her eyes filled with hope.
"I'll do anything to have my Maggie back."
The Dolphin explained that Maggie had recently come in contact with a dragon not far from her home, and that on the 55th bone on its left rib cage hangs the emerald link, known to many as the resurrection pendent. Only way into the dragon is through consumtion, impossible for any being, non-magical or mortal without the armor of indistructability buried far, far beneath the kingom of Avalor. By the end of the explanation, maggie's mother had slumped into a chair, her mouth wide open, completely astonished. Ociana placed a comforting phin on her arm.
"I know it sounds crazy. I assure you everything I've told you is true."
When the mother was still unresponsive Ociana flicked her phin and shot a burst of ice cold sea water into her face. Coughing and sputtering, she snapped out of it.
"Thanks." she said wiping her face on her sleave.
"its just that this day's been insane. A talking Dolphin, my kid turned into a zombi and now dragons?" Ociana made to squirt her again. Maggie's mother stopped her with a raise of her hand.
"I got it together now. Lets get down to business. Where is this...alla var?"
Running outside, Ociana and Maggie's mother set off to find the dragon. "So... what's avalor?" asked Maggie's mother. "I'll explain later." said ociana. They both arrived in the ocean. But, Ociana remembered the amulet. Wait, be right back." she ran to get it and gave it to Maggie's mother. "now say, take me to avalor." she said holding her hand. They arrived at the kingdom. Eleanor rant to Ociana tears in her eyes. "Is it true? Maggie... Maggie's dead?" she asked. "Yes... but we don't have much time. Take us to the underground passageway."
"You're crazy if you want to reserect her." said Izzy rushing to them. Then she caught sight of Maggie's mother and she fell silent.
"remember maggie told you about the 2 princesses, elena and sophia?" asked ociana.
" wait," said maggie's mother, " how do you know about that?"
"I know everything", ociana said. " anyway, princess elena gave her a magic amulet. if the person wears the amulet, they will be transported to the kingdomn of Avalor.".
" so where do we find this amulet?", asked the mother
" try maggie's room, I seem to recall something about her leaving it in the wardrobe."
seconds later, mother came back in to the kitchen carrying the amulet
" this?", she asked holding out the amulet.
" right, yes. that. ". ociana nodded.
" but ociana, you said that who ever wears the amulet is transported to the kingdom of Avalor. well, their's 2 of us, and 1 amulet, so...." her voice trailed off
ociana thought about this.
" I have it!" said ociana.
she did have it, too. she had a great idea.
" come with me," said the dolphin. " let's go!."
"go where?" asked the mother.
" why, Avalor of course."
the dolphin bolted for the door and the woman followed
soom, they had arived at a lake.
" hop on my back!" cried ociana, jumping in to the lake.
the mother did just that
" now, put on the amulet. " ociana commanded
she did so
suddenly, their was a gigantic wave, a bluish glow, and..
they found themselves floating in the river beside the magical kingdom of Avalor.
" that was a clever Idea you had" said the mother. " what do we do now?."
"I don't really know," admitted ociana. " we could look for elena, she lives here in Avalor."
Realizing there was more than one continuation to the story, Ociana and the accompanying mother, Elena Sophia, Izzy and Naomi, Tiger left all alone at home, zombee Maggie smacking doctor's and nurses left and right, a hungry dragon that was cheated out of his dinner, sad little Michael and his family at the Oasis, Mufasa, the pride of lions and the running elephant, all waited in anxious anticipation to see whose entry would be continued. Sia Fan's? The orical's? We'll find out, now!
"well, where is she?" asked maggie's mother
ociana thought for a while, them she said that it was probably best to walk through the kingdom to try to find her
they walked, and they walked. they walked past shops, past people playing guitars, past the castle, until eventually they caught up to elena.
" we're looking," said ociana, " for the armor beneath the city."
" the armor?" asked elena. " you don't mean...."
ociana interupted
"yes, that. do you know where to find it?"
elena laughed. " i'd not finished my sentence, you had no idea what I was going to say next. anyway, it is, indeed under the city. their are many tunnels to go through to reach it."
maggie's mother jumped. " but i'm scared of the dark," she said, shaking a little
" we'll use the light from my wand" said elena. " you won't be scared.".
they walked towards the tunnels, however when they got their they realised that the tunnels were so small, that only 1 person could go through at once
" well," said ociana. " it's not going to be me, I don't know what i'm doing."
"or me," said maggie's mother. "I don't like the dark."
elena sighed.
" fine," she said. " i'll go and get the armor, you 2 go back and meet me at the palace."
exactly 20 minits later, elena came to the palace with an angered look on her face.
" someone's stolen the armor!" she said, "someone's stolen it!".
" who?" asked ociana
elena sighed.
"if I knew that," she snapped, "I'd go and get it myself. I thought Avalor was protected."
" but elena," started ociana. " you're the ruler of Avalor. you should have...."
" yeah, yeah." cut in elena. " i'm elena of Avalor and i'm born to rule and all that jazz. I should have protected the armor though. I should have taken better care of my kingdom."
" i'm sure it's not your fault," said maggie's mother. " even rulers need their sleep."
" so what do we do?" asked ociana
" we wonder Avalor until we find the armor" elena had no idea where it was
"something must be done." Elena thought to herself. She would seak the assistance of her mother the queen. Maggie's mother looked around her in wonder. She'd never seen such a place. But the atmosphere though extraordinary, was solomn. Decorated as if in celebration of something but now being cleaned up. Elena smiled at her.
"you are pleased with our great city?"
"I guess that's a yes." said Ociana chuckling when she didn't answer. Gently taking maggie's mother's arm, Elena lead her towards the palace.
"I'll have a guide give you a tour of our most famous sites after I've provided you with proper accomidations. come."
Later, maggie's mother, whose name was Riousklnmjuoowrvlkofniktraoqerazxffeiuiov but was nicknamed Honey was attended by the tallest and most handsome man she had ever seen. A man was the closest thing he resembled anyway. a muscular beautifully formed blue creature with a big bright smile, a cultured tongue and courtly manors.
"welcome to Avalor my lady. I am Roonx, your chearful survant. Please follow me this way. I will show you to your room." They walked along until they arrived at a short hallway. On the left and right walls were two curtained areas side by side. Two golden skinned children came dashing from one on the left chaced by a frazzled looking blue colored maid and a finely dressed golden skinned woman and man.
"This way my lady." said Roonx stepping behind the curtains then holding it aside for her. She found herself in a small enclosed space facing a similar curtain. Roonx snapped his fingers. Soft classical music came muffled from behind the curtain. he emediatly held it open and gestured her forward.
"Here we are, my lady." She stepped into a spacious apartment. The window opened up onto a sunny view of the garden below. a comfy overstuffed chair waiting to be relaxed in was next to a table on which was a small platter of cold meats cheeses and a glass of wine. She glanced a large canopied bed and vanity with small glass bottles of perfumes and other toyletries through an open door. The scent of fresh flowers permiated the air from a large bouquet of violets on a low coffee table on which was also a leaflet.
"Oh how lovely it all is." said Honey touching the soft material of the chair.
"we do hope everything is to your liking. There is information in the leaflet you can use to your pleasure. Will there be anything before I go, my lady?"
By this she had so many questions her mind boggled. But she didn't think it was appropriate to pester the kind survant. She was sure he had others to attend to.
"That's All. Thank you Roonx."
"I am at your service my lady. If you need anything, only ask and we'll be there at once. Good day my lady."
He snapped his fingers and was gone.
"but he didn't go back through the curtain how..."
she realized the curtain was nowhere in site. She'd been so facinated with admiring the furniture she hadn't noticed it vanished the moment she was through it. Right then and there she accepted that she was no longer on earth, and that she was now in a magical place where anything was possible. Kicking off her heals, she picked up the leaflet and read it.
"Welcome Honey to Avalor Palace. These instructions will help you navigate your room and all its functions with ease. The first thing on your mind we know is how you can get out of here. Never fear, honoured guest. Only our dungens are impenetrable. On the far right of the north wall there is an image of a key. touch this, and the curtain will appear to take you elsewear. All you need do is say or think of which room you wish to go then snap and you will be brought there. Next, there are several images of stars placed carefully all around your dwelling. These images control the fireplace, the bath, summoning of survants and to send messages. The same applies. Touch the image and either state or think of what you wish and you have it. For example, if you wish to fill your tub with hot jasmin scented water, touch any of the stars think or ask for it and it is instantly done. This concludes the instructions. We hope you enjoy your stay."
"you have to be joking me," thought honey to herself. "surely it can't be as magic as they say."
she walked over to the stars, tapped it, and said "hamburger with ketchup"
sure enough, a slot opened on the wall and a hamburger fell out in to her hand.
" it is magical, just like the leaflet says" said honey, as she munched on her hamburger
her thoughts turned to the mission at hand, getting the armor so that they could rescue maggie.
she wondered if the stars could answer questions
she tapped on the stars, and asked, " where is the armor that is meant to be under the city?"
she waited for a while
suddenly the slot opened, and a peace of paper emerged
she read the paper, which informed her that the armor had been taken by a rock monster who lived on the top of a mountain.
she wondered why a rock monster would need armor, and wondered where she might find a mountain
"elena will know," she said. " after all, she rules this kingdom. she knows everything about the place."
she managed to find the curtain, and as she stood by it, she said, elena's room.
Rocking in anticipation, she waited. the curtain opened and there was Elena's room. "hey honey, was just getting ready!" she said slowly walking out. "what's up?"
"Well... um, I wanted to know where the rock monster was. the mountain I mean." said honey.
"Well, it's pretty far but I don't think you want to be going alone. I'll tell my cousin to bring his guards to go with you. last time I went... long story." she said her smile fading. "Could you go with me?" she asked.
"Well... I promised myself I wouldn't go back there... but if it's to save Maggie, then I'll go." With that, she disappeared leaving Honey in the dust.
She went back into the magical room and tapped the stars. She asked, will I even have a guide?" The stars glowed and she saw a folded map that came out of a blue slot. "Thank you!" and off she went into the night.
turning a corner, honey suddenly heard a scream coming from an open doorway
she froze
" don't hurt me!, please don't hurt me!" came a desperate voice
she looked around and saw a figure standing in the doorway
"hi," said the figure. " my name is joanne."
honey gasped
" but you're human!" she stepped back in alarm. " what are you doing in Avalor?"
joanne seemed to think about the question for a long time, before responding
"I woke up here. all I remember is, well..." she hesitated
" go on?" said honey
"I was asleep in my world," said joane, "I was asleep for a very very long time. when I woke up, I found I was older, I found I was holding a magig wand, and I was in a strange kingdom. what did you say it was called?. Avalor?"
"yeah," said maggie. "Avalor. well, i'm sure you want to know why I'm here. my daughter's turned in to a zombie, and i'm here to find some armor that I can use to rescue her."
"you're crazy," said joanne. " how can armor from this kingdom help your zombie daughter?"
honey laughed." long story. what are we going to do about you though. you can't stay here. this is Avalor, a magical kingdom. not really a place for every day, average humans."
"magical kingdom?" asked joanne, her eyes shining.
honey looked down at the wand joanne was holding. " and you're sure," she asked, " you have absolutely no idea where this wand came from?"
"none at all", said joanne. "no idea what so ever".
Remembering her confusion, Honey felt sympathy for the poor human. "You can't stay here." she said matter-of-factly. "I'm taking you with me." Joanne sighed. She slowly got up with the wand in her right hand. "all right now, let's go find that armor and save my daughter!" Honey smiled then and took joanne by the arm. They reached the ocean and joanne screamed. "What's wrong?" asked honey. "I... I can't continue. I'm afraid of the ocean."
Honey sighed. This girl was not making things easy.
"you cheated!" Squealed a childish voice across the water.
"You're just mad because I beat you...again!" replied another, geering. Some kind of struggle ensued and the waves became fearce. Terrified, joanne screamed and ran head long back to the castle. Honey ducked just in time as a basketball like object flew in her direction. Two small dolphins raced towards her and paused.
"Way to go Arial. Now how are you gonna get it back?""just go get it." arial replied obviously. Her brother looked as if she'd told him to fly to the moon.
"Go? Out of the water? but mom said..."
"Mom said mom said." Arial teased. She sniffed.
"You're just a big chicken. Nemo the biggist chicken this side of Avalor!"
As the bullying big sister arial bothered her brother with clucking sounds, honey snorted quietly to herself and retreaved the ball.
"Here you are, small ones."
"splendid!" cried arial snatching the ball from her and diving in to the ocean with it
her brother followed, and soon everything was peaceful again
honey smiled to herself, she remembered when she was a little girl, playing ball games in the park and telling tales on the older kids. she was happy she could help out the small dolphins
as she stood their by the ocean, the sun came back out and warmed her back.
"how nice," thought honey. " what a lovely, sunny afternoon".
knowing she had to check on joanne, honey turned around to face the path back to the castle
a part of her wanted to stay, maybe swim in the ocean, play with the dolphins- and enjoy the sunshine
she thought for a long while, then turned back towards the ocean
" if joanne's heading back to the castle," she said aloud, " elena will be their, so will her friends be. joanne will be fine."
with that, honey ran full steam in to the ocean to enjoy a cooling dip in the water.
nearing the ocean, her foot landed on something hard and thin. Joanne's wand. She must've dropped it when she ran off. Honey picked it up and brushed away the sand. Turning it over in her hand she wondered how it worked. Maybe it takes mental/verbal commands like everything else. To test this theory, she
excitedly grrasped the wand in her hand
honey knew nothing about magic, only what she'd read in books (she loved harry potter, you see)
before she could stop herself, and before she realised what she was saying, she waved the wand and spoke these words
"I wish I lived in Avalor. it's all so beautiful. I wish elena would be my sister, and ociana would be their when ever I needed her."
after saying it though, she felt really angry at herself
is that what she really wanted?. did she want to live in Avalor?
sure, Avalor was a lovely place, but the reason she had come to start with was to find the armor to save her daughter
she decided that she'd better reverse the wish before she was truly trapped here.
she went to hold the wand again, but before she could get a good grasp, sparks flew out 1 of the ends, the wand snapped in 2, and fell to the sand below,.
she bent down to pick up the 2 peaces, and wondered if their was anyone in Avalor who could fix it for her. she needed to reverse the spell.
starting back towards the castle, honey noticed what seemed to be another palace. this one wasn't their before, in fact, it looked like it had just been built.
she walked up to the door, where a sign read
"princess honey of Avalor. your home awaits".
" my home?" thought honey. " and elena is the ruler of Avalor, not me."
as she walked past her palace, the kingdom of Avalor was unusually quiet. their was no singing, their was no laughter. their was no cheering crowd.
soon she came across a tiny house.
" my god," thought honey. "this is where elena lived before. what have I done?"
she opened a little door, and walked in to a messy hallway.
"elena?. joanne?. it's me, honey!"
a woman came down the stairs
she looked a real mess. she looked as if she'd just been in a fight with a bear
her clothes were all torn, her hair was a mess, and she wasn't wearing anything on her feet.
" who are you" gasped honey.
"well," said the woman, "I was elena of Avalor. I was, but I don't know what happened. my clothes. my amulet. my..."
"I can explain", said maggie, though in truth she actually couldn't
she'd wished to live in Avalor, but no way did she wish for this reversal
"listen, I'll go to the palace and see if I can fix this."
And before Elena could ask anymore questions she was out the door.
Where are you off to in such haste?"
Ociana glided along in the air beside her.
"something terrible has happened and its all my fault."
Honey told her everything. Ociana grinned.
"Silly mortal. Give it here."
and taking the broken wand, made it whole again. Handing it back, she said,
"Now say, "mortals think they're dumbledore. Make things how they were before."
shame faced, she uttered the humiliating incantation
nothing could have prepared her for what happened.
the singing returned
the music returned
elena returned to her former self
" it worked!" exclaimed honey. " it actually worked!"
" of course it did," said ociana grinning. "I am, after all, an expert in wands."
" what now?" asked honey
"well," said ociana. " first, you're going to give me that wand before we have anymore accidents. then, we're going to find the armor".
honey hesitated
"I think I want to keep the wand," she said. " it might come in useful."
" but it isn't yours. actually, we still need to work out how joanne got it, then return it to it's owner."
reluctantly, honey handed the wand to the dolphin who smiled at her.
"now that's settled," she said. " the armor."
"rock monster" said honey
" what do you mean?" asked ociana. " rock monster?"
"it's where I discovered the armor was. back in my room at the place their are magic stars, and they gave me the answer I needed."
"so don't we need elena to take us their?" asked the dolphin. "I don't know where their's a mountain around here, and you've only been in the kingdom a couple of hours and barely have had time to explore."
"I am not taking you to the rock monster!" shouted elena. "I refuse too!"
"why?" asked honey and ociana in unison
"last time I was their... the lava from the mountain almost destroyed the entire kingdom. I am not taking that risk again, especially with an average human such as yourself" she gestured at honey.
"please, elena." begged ociana. "please. it is our only hope."
"I can't," said elena. "i've done it once, and i've learned my lesson."
"I can protect you," continued ociana. "you forget I have a wand. I can protect you and honey"
"yeah, I know, but....."
it was too much for honey
she stood up and approached elena.
"you will take us to the rock monster, and you will take us their now. you are a leader of a kingdom. god, you're acting such a brat".
elena just sat their, saying nothing and staring off in to space
"fine," said honey. " you won't take us to the monster?. you need to know who you're dealing with".
and with that, honey punched elena in the face so hard that she screamed
a blood curdling, desperate scream
" now she deffenetly won't take us. what did you do that for" ociana looked as if she was about to punch honey.
honey backed away from elena, scowled at the dolphin, and took her leave of the palace.
"Earth creatures." said Ociana impatiently as she healed Elena's wound.
"Thanks."
"Elena you have to go with her. You're the only one who can be her guide."
"How can i go back! Its been so many years since..."
Her words trailed off and tears streamed from her eyes. Alarmed, Ociana embraced her in a comforting hug. No one had ever seen the princess cry until now.
"Oh my dear. I can't imagine what you must've gone through with that vile monster."
"It was horrible. but you're right." Elena said disengaging herself and wiping her tears. I must swallow my fear for the sake of Maggie. Our warrior and the savior of Avalor. You'll come with us, won't you?" Ociana grinned.
"I wouldn't miss it for all of Draxia." With that, the friends joined hand and phin in pursuit of
fun and adventure.
soon enough, they came to the mountain, which, surprisingly enough, wasn't erupting
" the monster must be in a good mood" whispered elena. "let's go!"
"who disturbs me?", came a loud voice from the top of the mountain
the monsters name, was charoka, and he was now at full height looking down at the visitors
" ah," he suddenly said. "ccrown princess elena. how nice it is to see you up here again. do you have anymore rocks for me?"
"not this time," elena said frowning. " this is ociana the dolphin, and this is honey the human. we're on a special mission."
"anything for the crown princess!" explained charoka. " anything."
elena grinned. "well," she said. "actually we do need you to do something for us. honey here was told you have the armor. you know, the special armor we keep here in avilor."
"I do", charoka's mouth opened wide showing rock hard teeth
"well, if you don't mind," said elena, " we'd like it. we have something we need to do, or rather, someone we need to rescue."
for like the 50th time, the story was explained about maggie and how she had become a zombie
"but I don't see how armor will help," said charroka. "I mean it's armor. it's not magic."
"if you'd just let us have it?" asked elena. "I did bring you those rocks after all?", she aded.
"well bring me another one!" charoka suddenly growled. "bring me another rock, and you can have the armor!"
"but charok..." elena's voice was cut off by a stream of lava coming down from the mountain
"it's headed for the village!" cried honey " it's going to destroy everything!"
"my god," cried ociana. "she's right!. elena, what do we do now?"
"what a waste of time" grumbled elena to herself. "and I actually thought..."
"elena!" honey cut in. " we can talk about this later, but for now, we have bigger things to worry about. like, I don't know, lava about to destroy the whole of avilor?"
"yeah yeah" sighed elena, reaching for her wand
"lava, stop!" she cried, waving the wand in the direction of the village
but the lava didn't stop, in sted it continued on it's path
" why isn't it stopping!" cried honey. " elena, try again".
elena grasped the wand harder, shook it in the direction of the village and shouted "lava, stop!"
but it still didn't stop
"I must have the spell wrong," thought elena. " what is it again?"
nothing she said, or nothing she did, could stop the lava flowing towards the village
"we're going to have to resort to traditional ways," said elena. " we need water."
she turned to face ociana and asked her, " you're a dolphin, right?. can't you spray some salt water at the lava?"
"not really," said ociana. " the lava is too far away. i'd need too follow it's trail through the village."
"well," said elena, " follow the trail we must."
the 3 friends followed the lava trail as far as elena's palace
"surely now you can use the water" elena said to ociana
"i'll try," said the dolphin.
with those words, ociana sprayed water at the lava
then, 2 things happened. 1 good, 1 not so good
the trail of lava sweeping through the village stopped
but ociana had used too much water, and now the magical kingdom of avilor was sinking. ociana had used so much water, that nearby, a magical river was created, filled, then overflowed
"what the hell do you think you are doing?", it was charoka. his mountain was flooded too, and he had to swim to where the others were standing, waste deep in water. "you're destroying the city. the entire city!. fix this!" he roared
"be cool, charoka" said elena calmly. " we will fix this. all of us"
"sit down ya big oaf." Ociana said impatiently to the monster, and he plopped down where he was causing a huge ripple that sweaped the 3 friends away. Elena pulled them close and whispered some instructions and they at once opened their mouthes wide and began drinking. Sharoka laughed at first, but finding the water going down and down, he could do nothing but admire the small creatures. They drank until they were huge as mountains.
"What now." Asked Honey burping up leaves and debris as she lay flat on her back.
"This is all Elena's teritory." Ociana replied attempting to get up but only getting tired and giving up.
"Elena, what next? Elena? Elena!" She was fast asleep, huge gut slowly going up and down. Charoka blasted a note on his jiant trumpet in her ear.
"Huh? Roonx ate my homework, scholar Mira!" She shouted as she came to. She shook her head free of the stupid dream.
"It worked! Alright Sharoka, role us down to the ocean so we can empty ourselves into it."
"terrific idea!", said the monster. "follow me. we're going to the ocean!"
they arrived at the ocean just in time to see a gigantic wave break the surface
"wo, what a wave!" said elena. "that wave is massive!"
they emptied themselves in to the ocean, but found to their horror that what they'd actually done was drink so much water, they had grown to twice the size of ociana
now, as elena honey and charoka touched the water, they found themselves without hands, without feet, even without hair
they had grown so big on land, that now they were all dolphins
"and I thought I was the biggist dolphin in the world!" exclaimed ociana. "i've been around for years, and never seen dolphins as big as you!"
"it's not funny, at all" said honey, splashing everyone else. "all I came to avilor to do was to get some armor, and rescue my daughter. I didn't plan on seeing rock monsters, almost destroying elena's job as ruler, meeting a strange girl with a wand, and now this?. now being turned in to dolphins?"
" we wern't actually turned in to dolphins. we drank so much that..."
"oh shut up you stupid rock monster" cut in honey
elena giggled. "rock monster?. looks more like a water monster now."
the monster growled at everyone, but twice at elena
"well, we're just going to have to turn ourselves..." began honey
but she stopped
something dark was floating towards her
dark, and jingly
dark, jingly and armor like
"it's the missing armor!" cried elena. "who ever stole it must have come down here to play in the ocean, and dropped it."
"exilent!" said honey, " but we have a problem."
"that problem being," said elena, " that we are all dolphins, and can not pick the armor up."
they all sighed
"so what do we do?" asked honey
elena looked across at her wand. "I can't even hold that, and it would be useless in the water."
Red eyes peered out from behind a palmtree off shore. It was Phog the frog. She hopped into the ocean straight for the armor and snatched it up. Seeing the wand, a gleem came into her bulbass eyes and she grabbed it too.
"Phog, give us that armor. You can keep the wand."
She chuckled like a chip monk and hopped out armor and all.
"Hey!" shreaked Honey.
"Get back here you you..."
"Its no use." said ociana.
"She'll never bring it back. But I know where she keeps all her stuff. follow me."
She gracefully glided out of the water. The others came along flip flopping and clumsy.
"you're absolutely sure you know where this frog keeps her stuf?. it's the first time i've seen her", honey didn't sound too convinced
"trust me," ociana said. "I know"
they seemed to travel for hours, hours and hours.
"are you sure" said charoka. "surely the frog couldn't have taken all the stuff this far, could she?"
"up ahead" ociana whispered
their, sprawled out in front of them, sat a frog pond.
" no frog?" asked honey. " where's the frog?"
"we beat her here," said ociana. "now we wait for her to show up and drop off our stuff."
while they waited, ociana explained how she knew the frog and how she'd given her a home.
she'd been an outcast in draxia, and was cloes to death ( in draxia, they don't see many frogs, so they didn't have any ponds)
ociana had originally let her share her ocean cave, but had come to avilor to give her a home of her own.
"wait," said honey startled. " you've been to avilor before?."
"sure I have, I was in avilor even before elena became crown princess. isn't that right, elena?"
honey looked stunned
"I can't believe you never told me this!" she said. "this is like a second home to you."
from behind them, their came a ribit, ribbit, followed by some really good hopping
the frog dropped what it was carrying, hopped past the amazed group, and hopped in to the pond
"that's my frog" ociana smiled. "I'm glad she's doing so well, when I found her..."
"yep, you said. " cut in honey. "now we have to get our stuff."
"first we have to flatter her." said the once rocky and monstrous charoka. Ociana, who was just about to say that exact thing looked at him with surprise.
"I've never met her," he said answering her unasked question,
"But my sister once had to get her limestone ring from her and that frog wouldn't let her near it without gushing flattery."
Honey and Elena were amused.
"How do you amuse a frog?" asked Elena.
"Like this." replied Charoka as he ungracefully made his way to where Phog was counting her many stolen treasures.
"Good day, ugly lady." He began smiling.
"You are at the hight of your hidiousness. Are you going on a date?"
"What is that idiot doing." Honey said irritatedly. Ociana laughed.
"Just wait and see."
to her astonishment the frog began to blush.
"Why so bashful?" Charoka continued, encouraged, "Has no one told you of your buglike eyes, your ratlike skin or your troll like smile?"
Honey and Elena snorted with laughter.
"What fun. Lets join him!" Squealed Elena with delight as she and her 2 friends made their way over as Charoka was saying,
"And your oder,
"right," said honey. "and your annoying soundd. ribbit, ribbit."
"iwww. common frogs in my kingdom!" mumbled elena
"ribbit ribbit" said the frog
they would have continued to make fun of the frog, if it wasn't for the fact that coming up behind them were a group of 30 or 40 frogs, all hopping in place
"see what I mean" sighed elena. "overrun with frogs. I hate them, sorry, but I do."
"Oh nuts to this. Give me that armor!"
Cried honey, and faster than the speed of light, she snatched the armor and swam away. The multitude of frogs pursued her but she would not be caught. She swam in water and over land until she arrived at the palace where she rushed past the astonished survants who trying to offer curtacy were brushed off by honey and them choked with hopping croking frogs. Honey rushed behind the curtain and thought of her room and tried to snap. Nothing happened. She remembered that she was now a dolphin. With stupid phins that won't snap! The din of angry croking drew nearer. Oh where was Roonx when you needed him?
honey was what you'd call, stuck. nothing she could think of could save her from the situation she was in.
she studdied her surroundings carefully
it suddenly came to her.
" the amulet!" she exclaimed out loud to no one but the group of frogs. "I can remove the amulet, return to my realm, then once i'm back...." she stopped.
it never came to her before that if she did that, their would be no way to get the armor back to her friends in avilor.
"why do I have to be a dolphin!" she exclaimed out loud to the group of frogs. "I hate it!"
the frogs just continued to ribbit, ribbit.
"oh screw this" honey said.
she touched the amulet with 1 of her fins, and suddenly she found herself at home, in her kitchen, just as things had been before this crazy avilor adventure had started.
she had no amulet.
she had no armor
she had none of that, she was just plain old honey.
meanwhile back in avilor, ociana, charoka, and elaina were getting worried.
they'd all seen her grab the armor. they'd all seen her swim towards the palace, but where was she now?
"we need to look for her" said elaina. " she has the armor."
when they arived at the palace, they were shocked to find the place covered in frogs.
"look!" shouted elaina, "over here!"
ociana and charoka followed her voice, only to discover what she was pointing at.
their, lying on the floor of the palace, was a broken amulet.
"but honey was the only person with an amulet,"ociana said. " she wouldn't have broken the amulet, she would have wanted to stay with us. elaina, any sign of the armor?"
"no, afraid not" elaina sighed. " maybe she took the armor back with her, that's if she's even gone back. but why would she want to do that?."
"and if she did," spoke up charoka, " wouldn't she have the amulet with her?"
"not really," said ociana, " once you return to your world, the amulet is broken, and it breaks at the last place you are wearing it."
They all looked sadly at the shattered amulet. Elena picked it up, tears falling out of her eyes. Oceana went to ask the frogs. remembering she had another amulet hanging somewhere, she grabbed it and touched it. she was transported to... Honey's house. honey was sitting in her couch, looking thoughtfully at the fireplace. "Oceana?" she asked in surprise. "Hi honey. I think you broke the amulet. why?" Honey looked down then up into the young dolphin's eyes. "I, I didn't want to be a dolphin anymore. I decided to be home. to live a normal life." Oceana sighed and went back to avalor to deliver the bad news to the people. the hopping frogs stopped to hear her sad voice. then one frog touched the ground with it's webbed foot and arose a human. He had long shaggy black hair, green eyes, and was wearing the weirdest outfit! "My name is yavin Joyce." he said. "I saw your little friend."
"did you?" asked ociana in surprise. "honey?. you saw her?"
yavin nodded.
"yes I did," he said. "I am so sorry she decided to go back without you."
he continued, " all is not lost. while I can not bring honey back to avilor, and while I can not get you the armor, I can provide a cure for your friend maggie."
" you know about maggie?" elaina asked
"everyone knows about maggie, " yavin said. "she used to be the talk of avilor."
the friends stared at each other
"so what's this cure" ociana finally broke the silence.
"right, the cure. it involves a magic potion". yavin held out a sparkly blue potion. " we just give this to maggie, and she will be cured!".
"but first," he continued, " we need to find her. anyone know where she was last seen?."
" wo wo, wait a second" said ociana. " you've still not told us about how maggie was so well known in avilor."
"right, well, i'll get to that later". yavin looked rather impatient. "I thought you were interested in the cure. we'll get this cure to maggie, and then i'll tell you about her time here in avilor."
elaina frowned.
" you know," she said, " now I think about it, I think only honey knows where maggie is, and honey's back in the real world"
"nonsense," said yavin. " honey's been in avilor all along. you forget, she made a wish."
"which I reversed" snapped ociana.
"or not, " said yavin. " follow me."
exactly at that moment, not that far away, honey, who firmly believed she had gone back by mistake, realised that her home looked diffrent.
" this isn't my home," she thought. " it isn't. it looks, well, a bit royal to be my home in the real world".
checking her pockets, however she confirmed that their was no sign of her adventure in avilor.
the amulet, the armor, it was gone. she didn't even have any dolphin fins.
she stood their, in the kitchem, looking absolutely stunned.
" where am I?" she wondered out loud.
" we can tell you that!" caame voices from behind her.
honey turned round to see elaina, ociana, charoca and a man she didn't recognize.
" oh right" said elaina. " this man here is yavin. we met him, well, quite by surprise. anyway, he has a cure for maggie. he knows all about maggie."
honey adjusted her eyes so she could get a better look at who was talking
" elaina?. is that you?" she asked.
elaina grinned. " it's all of us" she said, " we'd thought you'd gone back. that is, until yavin told us of the wish you made a long time ago to never leave here. "
yavin cut in
" now honey," he said, " if you could tell us how to find maggie, we'll get ths potion to her."
Rather shaky, Honey stood up. "well, if you remember, I went to the hospital where she was seen last." "wait, but she's zombie Maggie." said Elena. "Right, but if you tell her about her adventures, she turns into normal Maggie, only for a very short time." she said rubbing her eyes. "well, let's find her! what are we waiting for?" asked Yavin smiling. Everyone but Ociana followed the young frog man into the hospital.
"let's go to reception and ask where maggie is" said elaina.
they reached the reception only to find the desk was in ruins.
behind the desk sat a ruined computer, a ruined telephone, on top of the desk sat some torn papers, and their was no receptionist.
yavin shook his head. " this hospital looks like it's been ruined. their's no one here, at least here at reception."
as they rounded the corner in to the coridor where the wards were located, they found another surprise.
all the wards were locked.
looking through the glass door, a lot of them were darkened, too.
" what ever's gone on here?" ociana asked with some hesitation
just then, the door of the maternity unit flew open and around a dozen zombie babies came flooding out the door. most of them just ignored the humans around them, however a few started to bite in to ociana and elaina.
yavin looked concerned.
"I can cure you using this potion," he said, " but I can't use it all. it's for maggie."
ociana and elaina drank a little from the potion, and their wounds healed somewhat.
they debated on what to do next
the door had since closed, and no more babies had escaped, just the ones standing around the coridor, biting their human prey.
" we'll just have to find someone who can explain all this" yavin finally said. " their has to be humans here"
everyone agreed, but still, they shivered as they headed for the elevator.
the elevator, on the plus side, was in 1 peace. by the door stood a zombie who looked like he had been overworked.
" what level" he said in a flat voice.
" um," said elaina. " a level with humans on it?"
at that statement, the zombie turned around and bit elaina on the chest
" she didn't mean it," said yavin. " we're just trying to find a patient of this hospital. a woman by the name of maggie. do you know her?"
"you'll never find her" came the same flat voice of the zombie. " she works here now. she responds to no one but us. she is a member of staff now. we are all zombies. well, we wern't..."
" yeah yeah yeah," cut in ociana. " just tell her that some of her friends are here to turn her back."
at the mention of turn her back, the zombie worker let out an all mighty roar, bit ociana, then becconed everyone in to the elevator.
elaina shivered. she whispered, " I don't want to sound weird, but this... it's not an elevator. look, it only has 1 button on it."
the doors closed.
" so, you want to turn her back and steal my staff, do you?" said the worker, his teeth showing. " we'll see about that."
" no no, please. wait" begged yavin. " don't press the button... we just want to see her. please let us see her."
the zombie reached out with aged fingers to where the button sat
" you'll be seeing her," said the zombie. " quicker than you think."
at that, he pressed the button...
nothing happened.
" why isn't it working?" he asked. " why isn't it doing it's job!"
the friends didn't wait.
they raced towards the open door and back to the reception area.
out of breath, they stopped and looked behind them.
the elevator operator (or what ever kind of operator he was), was gaining on them
" next time you come," he screamed, " my plan will work, and you'll be with your precious friend soon.
" you'll see" screamed elaina, and with those words, the friends left the hospital, slamming the door behind them
"maybe," said elaina, " just maybe, we should come up with a better plan to get past that guy.".
" like what?" asked honey
charoca, who had not said a word in the hospital spoke up.
" well, I don't know if It will be much help," he said, " but I think I have a book on zombies. I got it from the great avilor library."
he turned to elaina before continuing
" you remember right?" he asked, "and you also gave me that book on the monster rocks."
elaina smiled. " well, charoca, usually I'd be cross with you for keeping an overdue book, but this time, it might actually help us. come on, take us to the mountain."
it is a well known fact that a book on zombies probbaly does not contain a list of ways to get past them, rather a list of things they are famous for (such as scaring humans), and a lot of information about how to spot a zombie and tell the diffrence between a zombie, and a vampire.
this, I'm afraid to say, is what the zombie book charoca had contained.
it didn't contain anything helpful, it didn't contain magic spells, it didn't even contain a map of the zombie hospital, and as they studdied the pages, their feelings of optimism turned to despair
